SportWest Launches new Women of Sport Program

SportWest, together with the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, is pleased to launch our new Women of Sport Program.

This program offers three dynamic opportunities for women working/volunteering in sport through its Women of Sport programs. These programs are designed to empower and develop women leaders at various stages of their careers. Here’s an overview of each opportunity:

Emerging Leaders Program

The Emerging Leaders Program is tailored for early to mid-career professional women who are preparing for their first or second leadership role in the sports industry. This program offers a blend of masterclasses, workshops, personal coaching, and mentorship to help participants enhance their leadership skills and career development.

Senior Leaders Program
The Senior Leaders Program is aimed at women in executive management positions such as CEOs, Executive Officers, and General Managers. This program focuses on developing a strong network of women leaders within the sports industry and enhancing their leadership capabilities.

Become a Mentor
SportWest also offers the opportunity to become a mentor as part of the Women of Sport Emerging Leaders Program. This role is designed for both male and female industry professionals who are keen to share their knowledge and experience to support the next generation of women leaders.

SportWest was lucky enough to hear from Workforce & Volunteer Manager Perth/Boorloo AUS of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, Abid Imam, to hear how volunteering impacted this Major Sporting Event.

The ASF will deliver a CEO only briefing session in Perth on Tuesday 2 July and registrations for this session are now open and further information is available here.

A further session for other relevant staff will take place at 2pm on Tuesday 2 July.  These positions might include Chief Finance Officers, Heads of Government Relations, Heads of Fundraising and Philanthropy, Heads of Community and/or Participation among others.
