Finalists Unveiled Across 11 Award Categories: Celebrating Excellence and Achievement

The finalists for the 2023 WA Sport Awards have been determined after more than 200 nominations were received. The independent selection panels have met and reviewed the nominations received and selected 52 finalists across thirteen award categories, including the four new award categories; RSM Australia Community Sport Volunteer of the Year, Community, Sporting Event of the Year, Sport Initiative of the Year, Organisation of the Year.

SportWest Acting-Chief Executive Officer, Ashleigh Apps said the number of nominations showed how strong sport has been in Western Australia in 2023.

“The number and quality of nominations received is reflective of the superb year Western Australia has had in sport. From the high performance arena through to grassroots, the strength of nominations demonstrates how our industry has remained vibrant throughout another challenging year and sport has kept our community connected,” Mrs Apps said.

“I would like to congratulate all those who were nominated as well as those that have been selected as Finalists and I look forward to celebrating, as a sector, at our annual WA Sport Awards on Thursday 29th February 2024.”
