Australian Sports Commission Talent ID and Entry Program

The Albanese Government last week announced an almost half a million dollar boost to the Australian Sports Commission Talent ID and Entry program.


The Albanese Government’s $466,500 investment will help fund Paralympics Australia to leverage and increase the number of talented athletes entering Para-sport pathways in every state and territory, address gaps in the pathway across more than 20 Para-sports and support classification outcomes.

After a tough twenty-four rounds of Footy Tipping, we have reached the end of the season. SportWest are please to announce our overall Top Tipper of the 2023 SportWest Footy Competition .... Zeb Pawlowski, from Sports Medicine Australia (WA).


Thanks to SportWest Partner, Hyundai, Zeb will be walking away with two seats in the Hyundai VIP Hospitality Suite at RAC Arena for an event of his choosing (*Subject to availability) within the period 1 October 2023 to 31 March 2024.

Record Number to Celebrate WA Bike Month

This year's WA Bike Month is set to be the biggest yet with a record $75,000 in grant funding being awarded. Celebrated annually in October, this State Government initiative aims to promote and encourage people of all ages and abilities to ride bikes for transport, fun and a healthier lifestyle.


Seventy-six local governments, organisations, schools and community groups will share in major, local and minor grants to host bike riding activities across the State.

Women Leaders in Sport

Sport has the power to set new benchmarks and drive positive social change; one being equal representation in sport.

Applications are open for the individual and organisation Women Leaders in Sport grants. More than 27,000 women have benefited from these grants since 2002, helping them explore their leadership potential.

Applications close 17 September 2023.

Outdoor Active Recreation Participation Program

Applications are now open for the Outdoor Active Recreation Program.

Eligible DLGSC recognised state sporting associations (SSAs), DLGSC recognised state active recreation organisations (SAROs), Local Government, local sport and active recreation clubs and associations, community organisations can apply for grants between $5,000 and $50,000.

Introduction to Grant Writing Workshop (online)

Delivered by DLGSC through Whitney Consulting, the objective of this workshop is to provide participants with foundational information to guide them through the grant lifecycle and support them to find grants, address application criteria, prepare budgets and acquit grants. Participants will be given a grant writing checklist and templates to take back to their organisations and implement for future grant applications.
