Safe and Respectful Environments in Sport |
SportWest is all about enhancing the values, culture and practices of sport delivery in Western Australia and enriching the sport experience for all participants.
Violence against anyone is unacceptable and we have a shared responsibility to help stop violence. SportWest calls on the sporting community to promote a message of respect. Respect of officials, respect of the opposition and respect for the countless volunteers and administrators involved in sport but importantly, respect for women.
Family and domestic violence, as a form of violence against women, continues to be a driver of gender inequality, including in the areas of employment, participation and financial security.
Everyone has a role to play to eliminating violence against women and it starts with eliminating gender inequality. SportWest is committed to helping our sporting communities promote respectful relationships and gender equality. |

3 Cheers for Volunteers |
This National Volunteer Week (20 to 26 May), the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) is once again rallying the sport sector to celebrate and thank the 3 million sport volunteers across Australia with a big 3 Cheers for Volunteers!
Key to this year’s campaign is the effort to showcase the diverse communities of volunteers and the different ways people can give back to sport, aligning to Volunteering Australia’s Something for Everyone theme.
With NVW 2024 about to kick-off, ASC hope you will use the toolkit to spotlight sport volunteers who are at the heart of your sport. Don't forget to tag @ASC and use the hashtags, #3CheersForVolunteers and #SportVol
