ActiveXchange Commits to Data Partnership Extension

SportWest and ActiveXchange have extended their partnership to see the award-winning ActiveXchange for Sport platform remain in use across a number of State Sport Associations in Western Australia until 30 June 2027.


As SportWest’s data partner for community sport participation and engagement, ActiveXchange delivers deep insights to help shape industry planning and prioritisation throughout metropolitan, regional and remote Western Australia.


SportWest Member & Partnerships Manager, Matt Bamford said the partnership aimed to support sports in their strategic and operational decision-making, driven by current member data and demand forecasting now and in the future.

Women of Sport | Joining a Board, What to Expect & How to Get There Workshop

SportWest, together with the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries invites you to join us at our upcoming Women of Sport, Joining a Board - What To Expect and How To Get There workshop with expert Suzanne Ardagh AM.

This practical and interactive workshop will outline what is required to join a Board. You will gain insights and information on how to position yourself and identify your 'value proposition'.

We will discuss the preparation needed and what the role of a Director requires. Suzanne will discuss how to be an effective Director once you are on the Board and how to make a valid contribution with contemporary skills which are essential for successful Board's today.

We're turning Australia green & gold on Friday 2nd August, in support of the Australian Olympic Team.


‘Green & Gold Day’ is for everyone. The athletes, the fans, the businesses, the schools, the young, the old and everything in between. It doesn’t matter who you are, your sporting ability or your background, we believe sport has the power to unite us all.


This day is about painting the country in our national colours and being proud of Australia’s sporting achievements, it’s about all Australians coming together and celebrating the green and gold.

Child Safeguarding Webinar National Principle 5

Child Safeguarding Webinar | National Principle 5

Join us for a focused Webinar on National Principle 5 - people working with children and young people are suitable and supported to reflect child safety and wellbeing values in practice, which forms part of the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.


Co-facilitated by SportWest and the Department of Communities, this session will delve into practical applications of child safety and wellbeing values in sport recruitment, induction processes and management as well as discussing some WA examples of National Principle 5 in practice!


Who is this session for: State Sport Associations (SSAs). SSAs are recommended to identify their most appropriate staff member(s) and/or volunteer(s) to attend this interactive webinar.
When: Tuesday 13 August 2024

Mental Health and Wellbeing EAP/VAP Program for Sports

Look After Your Wellbeing | EAP/VAP Program 

Thanks to the support of the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, SportWest have partnered with Access Wellbeing Services (AWS) to provide mental health and wellbeing counselling and critical incident response to the WA sporting community, through an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Volunteer Assistance Program (VAP) program. 


The program provides access to free and confidential EAP counselling for SSA staff members working in the industry. Additionally, VAP critical incident response counselling available for SSAs to provide to their community and clubs.  


EAP and VAP services critical in nature may be accessed automatically by eligible and participating SSAs by contacting AWS directly. SSA staff should inform AWS that they are part of the SportWest program and provide the name of their organisation.
