Following its inauguration at the 2021 SportWest Awards, The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) Sports Administrator of the Year is back for a third year.
DLGSC Sports Administrator of the Year Award acknowledges the hard work and dedication of sports administrators from across the WA sport industry. The finalists for the award, as determined by the Community Sport Selection Panel, are: Troy Kirkham (Australian Rules Football), Abid Imam (Football), and Shayley McGurk-Davy (Hockey). |

National road cycling championships race into Perth |
Thousands of elite cyclists are set to race into Perth for the largest participation road cycling event in Australia.
The Cook Government has secured the AusCycling Road National Championships for 2025, 2026 and 2027.
This is the first time the prestigious event has been held in Perth since 1997, and the first time it is being held outside of Victoria in 17 years.
The Championships include three sub-events: a road race, comprising of elite, under 23, para-cycling, masters, club and junior road races; time trials; and a criterium, a bike race consisting of several laps around a closed circuit.

Grant Opportunity |Improving Health Outcomes for Priority Populations of Women and Girls |
This grant opportunity will contribute to implementation of the National Women’s Health Strategy 2020-2030 which outlines a national approach to improving health outcomes for all women and girls, particularly those at greatest risk of poor health.
The 2022-23 March Budget allocated funds for community-led initiatives and organisations to support the health of disadvantaged and marginalised Australian women and girls.
The objective of this grant opportunity is to support innovative approaches to trialling new initiatives, or expanding existing health promotion activities that focus on improving health literacy, reducing risk, and improving health outcomes within priority population groups. |

This workshop series is an excellent opportunity for eligible women involved in the sports industry, including sports administrators, coaches, officials, club volunteers, and those in sports media who want to enhance or refresh their leadership skills.

This workshop will help State Sporting Association staff to embed True Sport – Mental Health and Wellbeing resources within their sporting context and become Mental Health Champions.
