Sport FM to deliver live radio broadcast for WA sports lovers |
SportWest is pleased to confirm that Perth-based community radio station 91.3 Sport FM will broadcast live from the WA Sport Awards, where a sell out audience will gather at HBF Stadium in Mt Claremont on Thursday 29 February from 6pm.
With the aim of providing an outlet for grassroots sports that don’t always have an avenue to widespread media exposure, Sport FM will broadcast live from HBF Stadium to bring fans of sport at every level a range of interviews and the awards presentation as it happens.
SportWest Acting-CEO, Ashleigh Apps said it’s exciting to be able to share the night beyond those attending and to invite the radio broadcast into the homes of those across the state.
“The demand to be at HBF Stadium on Thursday night to celebrate WA sport has been enormous this year. The fact the WA Sport Awards has sold out shows the importance of the night, and the strength of our industry, but to have Sport FM making a commitment to a live broadcast gives everyone the chance to tune in”, said Mrs Apps.
SportFM's Jack Crawshaw has expressed excitement as the station looks to extend it's position as an outlet for grassroots sport in Western Australia.
"Whether it's at the elite or grassroots level, SportFM's objective remains to entertain and promote sport at the elite and community level. To be able to deliver a live broadcast of the WA Sport Awards that ties all of those elements together is an exciting opportunity for the station", said Crawshaw.
