R U OK?
|
|
Yesterday was R U OK? Day, a reminder of the power of a simple conversation. But looking out for one another shouldn't be limited to just one day of the year.
In sport, we celebrate strength, teamwork and resilience. True strength also means checking in with those around us, offering support when it's needed, and being willing to speak up when things feel tough.
Whether you're on the field, in the stands, in the office, or behind the scenes, your mental wellbeing matters. A genuine conversation and a listening ear can make a meaningful difference.
Let's carry the spirit of R U OK? Day forward every day. Reach out. Listen. Support. Because staying connected and looking after one another is something that matters all year round. |

Local Sporting Stars | Congratulations Kara and Ray
|
|
We're proud to announce Kara Stalker and Ray Squibb as this fortnight's recipients of the WA Local Sporting Stars Volunteer Recognition Program.
Kara Stalker has been the driving force behind the revival of junior cricket in Carnarvon. What began as supporting her son's love of the game has grown into a passionate commitment to rebuilding cricket opportunities for young people across the community. From coaching, scoring and coordinating game days to establishing Woolworths Cricket Blast programs and recruiting coaches and umpires, Kara plays a hands-on role in every aspect of the club. She has also helped establish a strong committee and vision for the future, creating a welcoming environment that has brought families and players together through cricket.
Ray Squibb has dedicated more than 40 years of service to the Tambellup sporting community, making an enduring impact through his leadership, volunteerism and love of hockey. Over the decades he has coached junior and senior teams, umpired, selected squads and mentored generations of players. As the inaugural President of the Tambellup Community Pavilion Management Committee, Ray helped drive significant improvements to local sporting facilities, while also leading fundraising initiatives that have strengthened community sport. Still actively involved today, Ray continues to lead by example and was recently recognised with the Great Southern Service to Sport Award for his outstanding contribution.
Nominations for future recipients remain open, with winners selected by a dedicated panel throughout the program. Community members are encouraged to nominate the volunteers who make a difference in their local clubs and help keep sport strong across Western Australia. |
