From Self-Doubt to Self-Confidence: Building Self-Trust from the Inside Out

Self-doubt can hold even highly capable people back from speaking up, pursuing opportunities, stepping into leadership or taking the next big step. But self-confidence isn't something we need to wait for. It's something we can build and strengthen.

In this practical and reflective workshop, you'll explore the thoughts and stories that fuel self-doubt, uncover the evidence of your own capability, and learn how to strengthen self-trust and self-confidence. You'll work through practical strategies to shift your inner narrative from "I'm not confident" to "I can figure this out" and build the courage and confidence to give anything a go.

The goal of this workshop isn't to eliminate self-doubt or become fearless. It's to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and give you the strategies to know how to strengthen the courage and confidence to step forward, even when you don't have all the answers.

Places to Play | Australia's National Community Sport Infrastructure Plan

Community sport is one of Australia’s greatest strengths. It brings people together, builds healthier and more cohesive communities and creates opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to participate, connect and belong.

The success of community sport depends on having sufficient and appropriate places to play which enable welcoming, safe and inclusive experiences. Across Australia local facilities are vital places for sport and active recreation. For safe gathering in times of disaster, as sites of celebration and welcoming and as community hubs supporting essential social connection and cohesion across metropolitan, regional and remote communities.

Places to Play sets out a new, nationally aligned approach to community sport infrastructure, one that places participation outcomes at the centre of decision-making. It is not a blueprint for a single organisation, sport or level of government, but is designed to span traditional thinking about levels and jurisdictions. It is a shared plan for collective action by the system, one that recognises the different roles across the system, while uniting them around a Common Goal and a Common Ground.

FIA Girls on Track Inspires the Next Generation at Supercars

More than 150 girls from across Western Australia were given a behind the scenes look at the exciting world of motorsport as the FIA Girls on Track program took centre stage during the Supercars event at Wanneroo Raceway on Friday 31 July.

Held as part of the biggest Supercars weekend at Wanneroo Raceway in more than a decade, the free program delivered two tailored streams designed to inspire girls and young women to explore the many career opportunities available within motorsport.

Originally launched by former Formula 1 development driver Susie Wolff as Dare to be Different in 2018, the initiative evolved into the global FIA Girls on Track program in 2020. Supported in Australia by Motorsport Australia, the program encourages girls and young women aged 8–22 to consider careers across the industry, from engineering, mechanics and media to officiating, event management and driving.

Supported by the Australian Sports Commission through the Play Well initiative, the Inspire program welcomed girls aged 8–15 to experience a full day of interactive activities. Participants enjoyed exclusive pit lane visits with Supercars teams, tested their reaction times, explored race cars, took part in hands-on STEM challenges and discovered the world of motorsport media and commentary.

The Pathways program, designed for young women aged 15–22, connected participants with women already forging successful careers across the industry. Through presentations, discussions and networking opportunities, attendees gained valuable insights into the diverse career pathways available and practical advice on taking their first steps into the sport.

Programs like FIA Girls on Track demonstrate the power of sport to inspire future careers, build confidence and encourage greater female participation in STEM and motorsport industries. By creating opportunities to connect with role models and experience the sport from the inside, the program is helping drive a more diverse and inclusive future for Australian motorsport.

Early Insights into Australia's Social Media Age Restrictions

The eSafety Commissioner has released an evaluation report providing early insights into how children and their families are experiencing Australia's social media age restrictions.

This report shares the first findings from our two-year study involving more than 4,000 children and families across Australia, tracking their experiences since the restrictions came into effect in December 2025.

It explores areas such as ownership of age-restricted social media accounts by under-16s, the reasons accounts remain active, children’s digital practices, family dynamics, and attitudes towards social media and the age restrictions.

Age restrictions are an important step in helping create safer, more age-appropriate online experiences for children. Even with the restrictions in place, regular and open conversations between parents, carers and children continue to play an important role in supporting young people’s online safety and wellbeing.
