Local Sporting Stars | Congratulations Indiah and Erin
|

We’re proud to announce Indiah Reidy and Erin Stocks as this fortnights recipients of the WA Local Sporting Stars Volunteer Recognition Program.
Indiah is an outstanding young leader in surf lifesaving, contributing at club, state and national levels. She serves on key youth committees and plays a leading role at Trigg Island Surf Life Saving Club as Patrol and Lifesaving Coordinator. From water safety and IRB crew duties to mentoring youth and supporting Nippers, Indiah’s commitment is tireless. A recipient of the SLSWA Youth of the Year and Long Tan Awards, she is a passionate advocate for youth development and community participation.
Erin has been the heartbeat of her club for 16 seasons, already earning Life Membership and serving on the committee for 15 years, including the past three as President. Alongside leading the club, she coaches multiple teams and supports development pathways at association level. Known for her deep connection with members and unwavering commitment to inclusion, Erin also led a successful initiative to deliver Indigenous training shirts to every player, strengthening culture and community across the club.
The WA Local Sporting Stars Volunteer Recognition Program celebrates a broad range of volunteer contributions, including youth leadership, long-standing service, inclusive participation, innovation and all-round support within sporting communities.
Nominations for future recipients remain open, with winners selected by a dedicated panel throughout the program. Community members are encouraged to nominate the volunteers who make a difference in their local clubs and help keep sport strong across Western Australia. |

You’re Invited to Share Your Feedback on Best on Road
|

SportWest is inviting everyone who has been involved in the Best on Road initiative to take part in a short survey and help shape the future of safer roads through sport.
Best on Road plays an important role in supporting safer participation across sport and community settings in Western Australia. To ensure the initiative continues to meet the needs of clubs, organisations, associations and participants, SportWest is seeking feedback from those who have been involved.
This feedback will help build a clearer picture of the impact of Best on Road, highlight what is working well, and identify opportunities for improvement and future focus.
There are three short surveys, tailored to different types of involvement. Participants are encouraged to complete the survey that best reflects their experience:

For SSAs that have engaged with or supported Best on Road.

Shaping the Future Sport, Fitness and Recreation Workforce

Community Skills WA invites industry, training providers and government organisations to attend the Sport, Fitness and Recreation Workforce Forum on Wednesday 24 June 2026.
This sector-wide forum will explore current workforce challenges and practical opportunities to strengthen the future sport, fitness and recreation workforce across Western Australia.
The forum will focus on:
• Workforce attraction and retention
• Future workforce needs and training pathways
• Cross-sector collaboration opportunities
• Practical actions to support workforce development
Through industry insights, case studies, panel discussions and interactive sessions, participants will contribute to conversations that will help inform workforce planning, training priorities and ongoing advocacy across the sector.

As National Volunteer Week draws to a close, it is important we continue to recognise and celebrate the incredible contributions of volunteers all year round.
The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) is inviting you to give 3 Cheers for Volunteers and put their stories on the map. From the city to the outback and everywhere in between, volunteers are the backbone of Australian sport.
To celebrate the people who bring sport to life, the Volunteer Map is back, giving you the opportunity to acknowledge those who make a difference in your community. Any sport volunteer aged 18 and over can be recognised. Whether they have dedicated 50 years or lend a hand on the weekend, every contribution matters.
The process is simple:

- Add yourself or your nominee
- Share their story and celebrate their impact

WA Disabled Sports Association | Inclusive Communication Education Session
|
|
WA Disabled Sports Association and Developmental Disability WA are inviting anyone involved in delivering sport, recreation, or community activities to join a practical online workshop focused on inclusion, communication, and supporting people with disabilities.
The workshop will share practical strategies to help build confidence in delivering inclusive activities, understanding communication and behaviour, and adapting activities to support participation.
The session will cover:
• Practical sport and recreation scenarios
• Communication and inclusion strategies
• Behaviour as communication
• Lived experience insights and discussion
To keep the workshop practical, interactive, and engaging, participation is capped at 30 people. Early registrations are encouraged. |

Juniors go free for Force's Kids Round game
|
|
The Western Force will celebrate Kids Round at HBF Park this Saturday night against the Fijian Drua.
Kids Round is about encouraging juniors to play rugby and families attending Super Rugby games, with the Force pulling out all stops. The Club will offer one free junior ticket (ages up to 15), with every paying adult, meaning tickets for two are from $28 via Ticketmaster.
As part of the Kids’ Round activations, the Force with the support of HBF Park and caterer VenuesLive are offering $12 kids meal deals (hot dog/nachos, juice and giant freddo), along with special blue ice creams from KBS Creamy Creations situated at Gate 1. |

The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day. All In makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change.
