2025 Western Australian Hall of Champions

It was a night to remember as Western Australia came together to honour the athletes whose achievements have shaped our sporting history. The celebrations saw basketball trailblazer Rohanee Cox and hockey star Shirley Tonkin inducted into the Western Australian Hall of Champions, recognising their remarkable contributions to their sports.

We also elevated two icons to Legend status - cycling champion Ryan Bayley OAM, Australia’s only double individual Olympic gold medallist, and football great Bill Walker, Swan Districts rover and four-time Sandover Medal winner. Their careers stand as defining chapters in WA’s sporting story.

The night also recognised the recipients of the Herb Elliott Medal, awarded for inspirational performances in 2025. Patrick Cripps was celebrated for his leadership and brilliance in football, while Minjee Lee was honoured for her world-class achievements on the golf course.

It was a fitting celebration of WA’s sporting excellence, past and present. And looking ahead, SportWest will proudly serve as custodian of the WA Sporting Hall of Champions, ensuring this prestigious tradition continues to inspire generations to come.
