2025 WA Sport Award Nominations Now Open |
|
SportWest is thrilled to announce that nominations for the prestigious 2025 WA Sport Awards are officially open! This annual celebration offers a unique opportunity to honour the remarkable achievements of athletes, coaches, officials, and sporting organisations across Western Australia.
We encourage you to submit nominations for those who have made significant contributions to sports in Western Australia. Whether it’s an athlete who has dominated their discipline, a coach who has inspired excellence, or a club that has fostered community spirit, every nomination helps shine a light on the passion and dedication that drives WA sport.
SportWest is proud to expand the Awards program with two exciting new categories for 2025:
SportWest Chief Executive Officer Troy Kirkham said the new categories reflect the evolving nature of sport and its broader impact on the community.
“These new awards recognise the diverse ways sport connects with our lives, from the road to the lens. The Road Safety Commission Best on Road Award recognises the power of sport to influence positive behaviour and promote safer roads across WA, while the Camera House Leederville Sport Image of the Year honours the power of photography to capture the emotion, energy, and spirit of sport,” said Mr Kirkham.
Winners will be announced at the WA Sport Awards, at Optus Stadium on Thursday 26 February 2026. Nominations close on Monday 1 December, 2025 at 5:00PM. Nominations can be made via the SportWest Website |

Navigating the Social Media Changes
|
|
From 10 December 2025, certain social media platforms won’t be allowed to let Australian children under 16 create or keep an account, giving them more time to develop important skills and maturity.
eSafety launched new pages on the social media age restrictions hub, designed to support parents and carers, educators and young people, as we prepare for the restrictions to come into effect.
The eSafety hub is your go-to resource for preparing your school community, from understanding how the age restrictions affect schools to accessing tools that help you communicate these changes to students and parents.
