Special Guest Announcement |Iona Anderson| Building Gender Equality in Sport
|
We are thrilled to announce that Australian Olympian and 2024 Silver and Bronze Medallist, Iona Anderson, will join us for the Women of Sport Sundowner next week.
Hailing from Perth’s northern suburbs, Iona has quickly become one of WA’s brightest sports stars and received the 2023 Rebel WA Junior Sports Star Award at the most recent WA Sport Awards. Her journey from a local swim club to representing WA on the global stage is a true testament to her talent and determination.
Iona will share her incredible journey through an exclusive Q&A session, offering insights into her experiences as an elite swimmer and her remarkable achievements at the Paris Olympics. Following Iona's Q&A session will be our esteemed panel moderated by Carol Fox.
Don’t miss out and get your tickets to the Sundowner today.
This is an inclusive event, and we encourage both men and women to attend.

Resource Spotlight | Sideline Behaviour | The Supporter
|
SportWest have partnered with Club Respect to provide resources to help sports clubs build and maintain respectful club environments. These resources seek to educate, empower, and positively influence the individuals involved in clubs. This week, True Sport is highlighting 'The Supporter' club specific resource.
Supporting live sport can be a passionate and thrilling environment to be in. Sometimes we allow this to become an excuse for outbursts of poor behaviour.
As Western Australians we are fortunate to be able to support our children, friends, family and community members and be involved as a spectator – the role of the supporter should be underpinned by behaviours of civility, grace and respect.
Support your side, respect the other and love the game.
