Resource Spotlight | Sideline Behaviour | The Volunteer |
|
SportWest have partnered with Club Respect to provide resources to help sports clubs build and maintain respectful club environments. These resources seek to educate, empower, and positively influence the individuals involved in clubs. This week, True Sport is highlighting 'The Volunteer' club specific resource.
When you take on the role of a volunteer, you are supporting your club and community. You can choose how this power will impact people - for good or for bad. As a volunteer, you can play a huge role in ensuring your club is one where all kids’ sporting experiences are positive and life-affirming. It requires you to be on the alert, to do your own bit in operating by your club’s Code of Conduct and to be prepared to call out poor behaviours in a civil and constructive way.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of the club. It’s what gives community sport meaning.
