SportWest, together with the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, invite you to join us for an inspiring panel discussion on Building Gender Equality in Sport. This event offers a valuable opportunity to network, fostering connections and collaborations that can help promote gender equality in the sports industry. The panel features an impressive line up of speakers who are leaders in their fields.

We are pleased to present our distinguished panelists:

Chris Sutherland, Non-Executive Director at Fremantle Dockers: Chris’s extensive experience in leadership and governance will provide valuable insights into fostering gender equality in the sports sector.
Dr. Joanh Nel, Management Consultant at Metisphere: A former Golden Lions rugby player with a PhD in organisational psychology, Johan’s multinational experience in fostering inclusive work cultures will offer a unique perspective on building gender equality in sport.

Moderated by Carol Fox,  a leader, author, and advocate for women in sport, this event promises a dynamic and thought-provoking discussion.

This is an inclusive event, and we encourage both men and women to attend.

Resource Spotlight | Sideline Behaviour | The Volunteer

SportWest have partnered with Club Respect to provide resources to help sports clubs build and maintain respectful club environments. These resources seek to educate, empower, and positively influence the individuals involved in clubs. This week, True Sport is highlighting 'The Volunteer' club specific resource.

When you take on the role of a volunteer, you are supporting your club and community. You can choose how this power will impact people - for good or for bad. As a volunteer, you can play a huge role in ensuring your club is one where all kids’ sporting experiences are positive and life-affirming. It requires you to be on the alert, to do your own bit in operating by your club’s Code of Conduct and to be prepared to call out poor behaviours in a civil and constructive way.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the club. It’s what gives community sport meaning.
