Paris 2024 Olympic Games | SportWest Recap |
|
SportWest congratulates all the Australian athletes that competed in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, with special mention to our very own Western Australian athletes. Western Australia has always been a powerhouse in Australian sport, and the 2024 Paris Olympics have once again highlighted the exceptional talent hailing from our state.
Behind these remarkable athletes stands a community of coaches, families, and supporters who have nurtured and guided them to success. The Paris Olympics were not just a celebration of individual achievements but also of the collective spirit of Australia.
As we celebrate these outstanding performances, we also look to the future, confident that the Western Australian sporting community will continue to foster, support and grow world-class athletes. The Paris 2024 Olympics have reminded us of the power of sport to unite, inspire, and overcome adversity.
Congratulations to all our Olympians. You have made Western Australia, and indeed the whole of Australia, immensely proud.
As we prepare for the Paralympics which will start on 28 August, the SportWest team took a moment to reflect on their favourite memory from the 2024 Paris Olympics. |

Resource Spotlight | Sideline Behaviour | The Parent |
|
SportWest have partnered with Club Respect to provide resources to help sports clubs build and maintain respectful club environments. These resources seek to educate, empower, and positively influence the individuals involved in clubs. This week, True Sport is highlighting 'The Parent' club specific resource.
In a sports club, the parent’s responsibility is to be a role model that helps demonstrate good behaviours. All parent behaviours – good and bad – have the potential to influence children watching on.
As a parent, you can play a huge role in ensuring your club is one where all kids’ sporting experiences are positive and life-affirming. It requires you to be on the alert, to do your own bit in operating by your club’s Code of Conduct and to be prepared to call out poor behaviours in a civil and constructive way.
